About Us

Chris worked for years for different metal fabricating companies and always thought about starting his own business, but it wasn't until 2009 when he decided it was time to just do it. He didn’t have much to start with except his own garage and a few machines. Beginning with walk-in repairs and metal brackets for shelving; CR Welding was established. His great attention to detail and quick turnaround brought in even more customers. Soon he was able to purchase more machines and recruited his daughters to help him when needed (they all know how to operate a drill press!). Two years later, he'd outgrown the garage, needed a larger work space and a full time employee to help with the work load.

In 2011, CR Welding & Fabrication moved to a new location in Waukegan, IL. Soon they were doing work for large companies and taking on larger projects. Customers continued to stay impressed with Chris’ great attention to detail and quality customer care. He continued to get walk-in repairs by word of mouth and it helped the company establish a strong client base. Chris felt the team was ready to take on more challenges and began planning to relocate.

In late 2017, we moved to Gurnee, IL, and expanded to add powder coating! 

The new, larger location enables us to continue to grow as a company and add to the services we provide our customers. We encourage you to stop in and pay us a visit! There is no project to small or too large for CR Welding and we’ll always put the same customer care and great quality into every project.
